ARTIST'S STATEMENT

The magic of black-and-white photography has been my passion since early childhood, as I first observed an image emerge in a photographic chemical bath.

The beauty of Rhode Island has had a major impression on me. It became my goal to attempt to permanently record this in photographic imagery.

Most of my photographs of Rhode Island are in a black-and-white format. I find this to have more drama and depth as well as being much more archival than color. I use a Hasselblad camera and T-Max film. Some images have been recorded on infra-red film. I develop the film in my own darkroom. The negatives are scanned and printed archivally with a giclee digital printer.
